Search Forms Settings Tab

This tab is where you can set up the geolocation features that will be used with the [jobs] shortcode. When you are done setting up this tab, simply add the shortcode attribute gjm_use="2" to any of the [jobs] shortcodes on your site to enable the geolocation features. For example, [jobs gjm_use="2"].

This settings page provide a simple way to apply the same geolocation features to some or all the [jobs] shortcodes on your site. However, it is also possible to enable different geolocation features for different [jobs] shortcode by using the different shortcode attributes that Job Manager Geolocation plugin provides. You can learn how to use those shortcode attributes in the shortcodes page.

Tab Settings

  • Preset Pages - here you can select a single or multiple pages where you would like to enable the geolocation features dynamically. Why? Because some themes and plugins provide custom templates that can be used to display the jobs form. Those custom templates use a PHP file to load the content of the page. Because of that, there is no access to the [jobs] shortcode via the page content in the admin dashboard, which means that it is impossible to enable the geolocation features on that page. However, using this preset feature, the plugin will dynamically enable the geolocation features of this setting page on the selected pages.
  • Page Load Locator - when enabled, the browser will try to detect the user's current position when the jobs form first loads, and If found, the form will be dynamically submitted based on the user's location.
  • Address Autocomplete - Display live suggested results by Google while typing an address in the location field of the jobs search form.
  • Locator Button - enable the locator button inside the location input box that will allow the user to dynamically retrieve his current position.
  • Radius - Enter a single value to be used as the default radius value, or multiple values, comma separated, to be displayed as a drop-down in the jobs search form.
  • Units - select a single distance unit to be used as the default value, or  "Both" to display a drop-down select box in the jobs search form and let the user choose from.
  • Order-by - enter a single value that will be used as the default, or multiple values, comma-separated and in the order which you would like to display them, to display an order-by select box in the jobs search form.
  • Google Map - enable/disable google map in the jobs form.
  • Map Width - Map width in pixels or percentage (ex. 100% or 250px).
  • Map Height - Map height in pixels or percentage (ex. 100% or 250px).
  • Map Type - select the map type. options ROADMAP, SATELLITE, HYBRID, and TERRAIN.
  • Map Markers Grouping - select between Marker Clusterer or Marker Spiderfier to group nearby markers on the map.
  • User Map Icon -  URL of a map icon that represents the user's position on the map.
  • Location Map Icon - URL of a map icon that represents the location of the job on the map.
  • Zoom Level - select "auto" zoom or a zoom level between 1 to 20. A manual zoom level will zoom in to the visitor's position, if exist on the map. Otherwise, if the visitor's location does not exist, or if the zoom level is set to "auto", the map will zoom to fit all markers in view.
  • Maximum Zoom Level - set the maximum zoom level that the map can zoom in. This can be useful if you want to prevent users from seeing the exact location of a job on the map. Setting a maximum zoom level, for example 7, will allow users to zoom in enough to see the city level but not the street level of the location.
  • Zoom With Scrollwheel - enable map zoom in/out using the mouse scroll wheel.
  • Clusters Path - the path to the folder that contains the marker clusters images. The images must name m1.png, m2.png, m3.png, m4.png, and m5.png, respective to the cluster size.
  • Show Distance - Display the distance to each job in the list of results.
